Some news we’re genuinely thrilled to share: Rufilla is now an official Silicon Labs Design Partner, joining Silicon Labs’ network of pre-qualified design services companies.

In truth, this formalises something that has been the case for years. But it’s lovely to make it official, and it’s worth pausing to explain what the partnership is, why it matters, and what it means if you’re building a connected product with us.

What is the Silicon Labs Design Partner Network?

The Design Partner Network is Silicon Labs’ programme of carefully vetted, pre-qualified design services companies. It’s how Silicon Labs connects product teams with partners who have proven, hands-on expertise across its portfolio, whether that’s code development, RF design and certification support, or taking a wireless product from first sketch all the way to production.

Membership of the partner network is earned. It reflects years of demonstrated experience designing real, shipping products on Silicon Labs silicon.

Years in the making

Gecko MCUs and Wireless Gecko SoCs (the EFM32 and EFR32 families) have long been our go-to silicon for low-power, connected products. We’ve worked closely with the Silicon Labs team for years, with weekly engineering meetings, deep familiarity with the tools, and more than a few hard problems solved together along the way.

The parts themselves tell the story of why we keep coming back: properly engineered low-energy modes, multiprotocol wireless done right (Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Matter and proprietary sub-GHz), rock-solid reliability in the field, and strong security designed in from the start.

Those Geckos now sit quietly at the heart of more connected products we’ve designed and shipped than we’re at liberty to name. If it’s low-power, wireless, built to last and designed by us, there’s a fair chance a Gecko is running inside.

What this means for our clients

Partner status isn’t just a badge for the shelf. It brings tangible benefits to every project we run on Silicon Labs technology:

A direct line into Silicon Labs
Faster answers, deeper technical support, design reviews, and visibility of roadmaps, so your product is built on the right part, with the right information, from day one.
De-risked development
RF layout, antenna design, power optimisation and certification are where connected products live or die. This is precisely the ground the partnership is built on.
End-to-end delivery, one team
Hardware, firmware, wireless and production under one roof, with no handoffs and no gaps for problems to fall through.

If you’re still choosing silicon, we can help with that too. Our job is to match the technology to the product, and when a Gecko is the right answer, we now bring partner-level backing to the table.

Thank you

Huge thanks to Oliver Krueger, Simon Guttery, Isaac Sanchez and the wider Silicon Labs team for the warm welcome, and for years of excellent collaboration behind the scenes. We’re looking forward to a great future partnership.

You can find us in the Silicon Labs partner directory, and read more about the Design Partner Network on the Silicon Labs website. We also shared the news over on LinkedIn.
